As playgrounds are used by children, they must pass a multi-agency safety certification process before installation. Materials safety, structural defects, and flooring hazards are verified step-by-step, and only after all certifications are completed are they allowed to be installed on site.

Cheongwoo Funstation complies with the following four-step certification process for all products.

4-step playground equipment safety certification process

STEP 1. Wood species and content inspection (Certification organization: Korea Forest Service)

The wood used in amusement equipment is inspected for species, moisture content, grade, and durability based on Forest Service standards. The manufacturer submits the relevant documents for verification, which is a prerequisite for all subsequent certification procedures.

STEP 2. Product Certification Inspection (Certification Authority: NST)

A representative from NIST visits the site and checks for compliance with safety standards, such as choking, sharp edges, and tripping hazards. At the same time, materials from the facility are collected and analyzed for eight heavy metals and hazardous substances, and a product certificate is issued only if both inspections are passed.

STEP 3. Activity Inspection (Certification Authority: MOE)

Playground floor coverings (rubber chips, mats, etc.) are tested for heavy metals and parasites in accordance with MOE standards. This is a step that separately secures the safety of the actual activity space as well as the facility itself, and an activity inspection certificate is issued upon passing.

STEP 4. Installation Inspection (Certification Authority: Ministry of the Interior and Safety)

The finalized state of the facility is inspected according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety standards. You must obtain a facility code before applying for the inspection, and attach the previously acquired product certificate and activity inspection certificate to the application. Upon final passing, an installation inspection pass certificate is issued, at which point the installation is officially completed.

Safety certifications are the starting point for quality

All four levels of certification must be passed before the installation is authorized. It's not just an administrative process, but a systematic verification of the safety of the entire space, from materials to completion. Cheongwoo Fun Station applies the same standards to every delivery site.
